New Interface for PubMed

Pubmed is the freely available version of Medline and is widely used by researchers and students in life sciences all over the world.
Transinsight and the University of Desden, have taken all the data in PubMed, some of which might not have been readily available and made it visible by developing GoPubMed, a new web based interface.
When searching GoPubMed keywords are submitted to PubMed and the resulting abstracts are classified using Gene Ontology and Medical Subject Headings (MeSH). Your results are then sorted in four different areas What, Who, Where, When. The information in these areas can be further investigated. In addition you also get a range of statistics based upon your search. You get information on authors writing on this topic, which journals have published the most articles, where researchers are based and a world map giving a quick visual representation of where the research is carried out.
It's quite a different view of the information in PubMed but it gives an intriguing view of what is possible. You can still go from GoPubMed to the classic PubMed view if you want.
You can see a video of the features in GoPubMed here.
