Scitopia is a free federated vertical search that lets you explore the research most cited in scholarly work and patents in a single click.
The societies involved include the Acoustical Society of America, American Geophysical Union, American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, American Institute of Physics, American Physical Society, American Society of Civil Engineers, American Society of Mechanical Engineers, American Vacuum Society, The Electrochemical Society, The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Institute of Physics Publishing, Optical Society of America, Society of Automotive Engineers, Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics, SPIE .
How does it work? Go to Scitopia, put in your search terms and it will search more than three million documents, including peer-reviewed journal content and conference proceedings to find relevant documents. Clicking on a link will bring you to the full text of the document if UCD Library has an institutional subscription to the relevant publisher. However you don't need a subscription to search for documents.
